General Assembly

Saturday February 24 at 11 AM: the yearly General Assembly of Ayadina.

Lots of members attended. Maya Najjar, Ayadina’s president, welcomed all.

A full report about Ayadina’s activities during 2006 was presented.  Suggestions were made for the future. Then the members had lunch together at Ayadina’s premises.

Abu Elias back!!!

Hamdilla 3a salame….with this greeting Abu Elias (83) was welcomed this morning after he underwent open heart surgery. Being a man of poetry, he had made his speech. Abu Ahmad in his turn made another speech, you can see below, as well as some pictures.

Sick

Nathalia, 12 years old, always dreamt to play the piano. Because of financial reasons she wasn’t able however to learn it. Since Ayadina started with the Art classes, she enrolled both in drama and piano. Being a rather shy girl the drama lessons really made her more outreaching, and she adores the pianolessons with Mrs. Amal Tomb.

Now last weekend she was admitted at the hospital, having a medical problem, so we went to visit her yesterday evening. She was soooo happy with the visit.

Saint Louis College @ Ayadina

Almost twice monthly St. Louis College comes under the supervision of Director Mrs. Louiza Nabout with her students. They do hairdressing, manicure and make-up. The atmosphere is great.

Fadi and Linda choose their colors, Mrs. Jamileh Ata teaches the techniques, Ali starts making his first oil painting. A big step: painting with oil!

Happy Valentine!

With some couples we celebrated Valentine at Ayadina. May all the beloved ones keep loving one another.

  

Ballet Costumes

Last Thursday was a very special Thursday, because thanks to donors we were able to buy dance costumes, bodies, stockings and ballerines, for the children who attend the ballet classes.

Starting French and English lessons

Since the beginning of 2007 we started with 2 classes in addition to our Children’s programs, namely:

• French for children in primary schools, given by Mrs. Cathy Nakhlé. Until now 12 children are registered.
• English for mothers, given by Annie Vos. 12 mothers are enrolled. It’s a very pleasant and enthusiastic group.
